Slip and Fall

Wednesday, April 18th, 2007

Every once in a while we slip and fall. The feel of fear, will we ever get up? The more we fall, the more we get used to. But the question is, do we get used to accept the falling, or get used to find the way to get back standing, or get used of running away?

I have been on all 3 circumstances. But I must say that they come in orderly, its just the matter of how much time you need in every phase. And the matter of how you deal with your problem, alone or is there somebody else with you.

The first thing I do when some trouble occur is… I run away. Human. I hope that time will freeze, so that I don’t have to face my trouble again tomorrow. I try to think that everything will be ok and when I go to sleep tonight, all my trouble will dissapear. But that don’t happen, ever. Well, occasionally they do dissapear. That means that my trouble = misunderstanding only, and that’s good. What more likely to happen is there is real trouble. Trouble doesn’t go away by the blink of the eye.

After a couple of hours, or days, the second phase begin. I fall. I am such a perfectionist and obsessive person that I think that its all my fault not to be good enough to handle things right. That every bit error could have been avoided. That I have not been as responsible as I should. That I am not good enough. Where did I loose it?

The interphase before I get into the next is what I think to be the best part, the letting go. How?

  1. Talk to your friend. I am not very fond of this method, cause I think that one’s mistake can only be fix with one’s own way.

  2. Go out smoking and poison your lung, but you get a clear head afterwards, so I heard.

  3. Wash it away with drinking. Anything. Tap water, juice, wine, schnaps, anything to wash away.

  4. Take some days off to walk along to beach, or hike mountains. Your favorite places. Hide away, just for temporary.

  5. Weep. As sadly it is, unfortunately this is what we women do best on letting go. And after some research, nevertheless this is totally the best way. No side effects at all. Well, other than a stuffy nose and a pair of raccoon eyes….

  6. And so many other ways, be creative.

Standing up is surely the hardest part. Everyone is a beginner in that matter. But we learn from it. Step by step, either you choose to be slow or quick. It is you who know yourself, so trust the inner you to come forward and fix. There is no guarantee that in the process there will not be another falling, but you are wiser already, so nothing to worry about, you will do just fine.

Days go by and will not await. Troubles come and go, you are not yet human if not have faced one. So get up and go.
